The project, which brings together 22 partners from nine countries to develop water management in the Danube region from the Black Forest to the Black Sea, aims to protect the region's freshwater ecosystems, ensure ecosystem connectivity and protect local communities and ecosystems from extreme events and pollution, among other things. The DALIA project directly contributes to the establishment of EU and UN initiatives related to the further implementation of the Water Framework Directive by testing innovative water quality and habitat improvement and conservation activities for different problems in different geographical areas (demonstration sites) and facilitating the scale-up and replication of these innovative solutions. Two of the 9 demo sites are Hungarian (host: Széchenyi University, Naturefilm.hu Society).
