A fundamental component of a framework designed to facilitate technology transfer processes might involve the establishment of a university-owned enterprise tasked with commercializing the knowledge generated within the institution. This entity would serve as a liaison between the university and external companies, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.
In order to ensure the necessary costs for the establishment of the TTC and its operation for 3 years (2024-2026), the Hungarian government has provided HUF 500 million (over €1,270 million) in 2023 to 5 universities (University of Debrecen, Óbuda University, Semmelweis University, Széchenyi István University, University of Szeged).
NIÜ provides professional support for the 3-year implementation of the project, facilitates and monitors the operational implementation of the conditions, and monitors on a quarterly basis the achievement of the KPIs agreed in the TTC concept prepared jointly with the institutions within the framework of the project.
NIÜ also provides various services to support the operation of the TTC offices. The staff of the universities and TTCs are in regular and proactive contact with the NIÜ staff. NIÜ shares the experience and knowledge gained from the project with universities and research institutes not participating in the project.
